Niccolò d’Aquino 1948, is married and has a son, lives with his wife between Rome and Milan and, often, New York.
He is an Italian-Swiss professional journalist. Correspondent, for the last several years, of America Oggi the Italian language newspaper in the United States, of which he is one of the shareholders, he is also a contributor to the online newspaper La Voce di New York (The Voice of New York).
For over twenty years, he was special envoy for foreign affairs initially for Il Mondo and, subsequently, for Io donna, the women’s magazine of Corriere della Sera newspaper. He was also the correspondent from New York for Ansa Agency and worked on economic issues for Il Corriere del Ticino.
He’s been a long time consultant of Piero Bassetti and his think tank Globus et Locus.
He has written several books on glocalization and being Italic, including: "I media della diaspora" (1994), the first analysis/cataloging of Italian media outside of Italy; "Annuario dei mass media italici nel mondo" and "Annuario dei comunicatori italici" nel mondo (2005); "Italici: il possibile futuro di una community globale" (2008), also translated into English (Italici: an encounter with Piero Bassetti) and published in the USA; "Lezioni italiche" (Italic lessons - 2010), also translated into English and published in the USA; "La rete italica: idee per un Commonwealth" (last edition 2017).
He is the Managing Editor of IDE (Italic Digital Editions) a small publishing house of ebooks and paper books, founded with other members in 2010.
