He is Associate Professor of History of Political Theories at the University of Milan. Lecturer for the Master in Public History promoted by the Department of Historical Studies of the University of Milan and the Feltrinelli Foundation, he is also Executive Editor of "Glocalism: Journal of Culture, Politics and Innovation" published by Globus et Locus, and Co-Editor of the journal "Storia Amministrazione Costituzione", published by il Mulino. Furthermore, he is editor for two series – "Biblioteca di cultura politica europea" (Rubbettino Publisher) and "Filologia e politica" (Giappichelli Publisher) – and he is Director of the "Seminario permanente sui classici del pensiero politico" at the Feltrinelli Foundation in Milan.
Member of the European Society for the History of Political Thought and of the Italian Association of Political Science Historians, he collaborates with some national newspapers, in particular, with the Huffington Post (Italian edition), where he manages his own blog.
He has dealt with the history of political theories of the twentieth century, with particular focus on the problems of autonomism and the relationship between politics and culture.
